Insane "Christian" Pat Robertson Imagines Ariel Sharon Received Stroke from God

Our Holy Spirit's joyful response:

Where does the totally insane belief in gods of vengeance come from? God is Love and Love has not confused its attributes with those of fear. Worshippers of fear perceive their own confusion in fear’s enemy; its cruelty seems now a part of love. And what becomes more fearful than the heart of Love Itself? The blood appears to be upon His Lips; the fire comes from Him. And He is terrible above all else, cruel beyond conception, striking down all who acknowledge Him to be their God.

Give up this insanity, Pat Robertson. As you let your voice belong to God, and echo His Love your heart remains at peace forever. Now you have chosen Him in place of idols, and your attributes, given by your Creator, are restored to you at last. The Call of God is heard and answered. Now has fear made way for love, as God Himself replaces cruelty.

IF you believe that Jesus is True God and True Man AND if you believe that God cannot lie, and if you believe therefore that the same God who spoke the vengence and judgements in the First 39 books of the Bible as he does and if you believe that he will pour out bowls of wrath again at the judgement then I find it difficult to believe that you might doubt for a minute that in fact God still rewards and disciplines people, particulaly those in authority. Our God is One God, Jesus is God fully and complete. So, don't confuse the message and don't despise a clumbsy expositer of his truth like Pat Robertson. He's like a bull in a china shop, but he quoted correctly.

You ask ”Where does the totally insane belief in gods of vengeance come from?”

Ummm, ya think just perhaps it comes from THE BIBLE????

And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and ... offer him there for a burnt offering. - Genesis 22:2

And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. - Genesis 22:10

And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him. -- Genesis 38:7

And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also. - Genesis 38:10

That’s just from the first of 66 books! You want hundreds of more examples? God is described therein as cruel, revengeful, murderous, and savoring the smell of burning flesh. Oh yeah, I know, the examples are from the Old Testament. Jesus changed all that, right? Let’s skip to the New Testament then:

He that believeth not shall be damned. - Mark 16:16

Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell. – Luke 12:5

But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me. – Luke 19:27

He that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. - John 3:36

Again, I could go on and on with the NT as well. Now instead of God murdering people left and right, human beings that God supposedly created out of love will instead be tossed into Hell, the cruelest place ever devised to suffer for eternity. God of love? I think not.

How can you possibly worship any god that murders, or worse, sends to Hell, his very own creations?

Illogical, immoral, inhuman nonsense.

Dave, you prove the Holy Spirit's point. God is ONLY love and ONLY immediate forgiveness. Any other viewpoint has to be a projection of the human ego. No self-respecting Christian worships the god you describe who murders and sends to hell. Forget interpretations of what is going on in the Bible and open your mind to modern day revelation about what is really going on. You will be a lot happier.

Are you telling me that the Bible is not God's Word?

I'm with GR on this one. God most certainly does discipline and punish His children... Just as you do (I hope). That being said, I don't this is the case with Ariel Sharon. He's an old man, who has obviously not taken care of his body, and probably was weakened further due to previous battles, and stress. We should all pray for God's will to be done. I have no doubt Ariel will not spend eternity in the same place as say, Ahmejedin (or whatever the hell his name is).

I think it was a completely regrettable statement to make and I only wish he had the foresight to actually predict that he was gonna do more harm than good with it.

Spiritual pride at it's worst.
